The May team of the month prize was jointly won by Stogumber and Wincanton 2nd XI.The draw for the winner – only one team can have the prize, a weekend trip for two to a Best Western Hotel – will be made at the Management Committee meeting on June 29.
Peasedown St John Cricket Club has withdrawn its 1st XI from the 2nd Division of the SCL as it is unable to raise a team to fulfil their fixtures.  The Peasedown 2nd XI will continue to play in the 4th NE Division of the 2nd XI competition.  It will not be strengthened by the inclusion of 1st XI players who were mainly youth team members anyway.  The Club hopes to re-group over the season and start next year afresh in Division 6.  I am sure that all clubs will understand this very difficult decision that the Peasedown officials have had to make and will wish them well in achieving their objective of establishing two teams in the SCL in 2010.
The Committee decided to produce two colours of tie.  These ties have the Shrubbery Logo woven into a green or blue background.  The green one is for umpires, which the Committee decided to give to members of the Umpires Panel, while Club umpires will also be able to purchase a ‘Green Umpires Tie’ at a cost of £7.50.  Shrubbery League ties for any other person are also available for purchase.  These ties will be similar to the umpires’ ties, except that the base colour will be blue to create a distinction.  These are also available at £7.50. Click here details sheet and order form.
